Procedures

Cleanliness and Tidiness:

  • Ensure that the floor and the surroundings are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • Promptly clean up any spills to prevent accidents and maintain a safe working environment.

End of Shift Responsibilities:

  • Each shift waiter/waitress must ensure that all the following items are well cleaned and orderly:
  • Chinaware.
  • Glassware.
  • Silverware.
  • Service Napkins.
  • Inspect all cleaning tasks to ensure no items are overlooked and the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained.

Handling Service Items:

  • Take utmost and great care while washing and stocking the service items to prevent damage and ensure longevity.
  • Use appropriate cleaning agents and techniques for different types of service items (e.g., delicate glassware vs. sturdy chinaware).

Organizing the Working Area:

  • Clean your working area and the surroundings properly and store all tools in their respective places after use.
  • Check that all tools and equipment are functioning correctly and report any damages or malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
  • Keep your pantry locked at the end of the shift to ensure security and prevent unauthorized access.

Maintenance of Tools and Equipment:

  • Maintain all service tools, trolleys, and equipment clean and in order at all times.
  • Regularly inspect and service equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Label and organize storage areas clearly so that items can be easily found and accessed.

Waste Management:

  • Dispose of rubbish and waste materials promptly and appropriately.
  • Ask the cleaner to collect rubbish whenever required to maintain a clean working environment.
  • Ensure recycling protocols are followed and segregate waste as necessary.

Health and Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations regarding cleanliness and equipment use.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning agents or performing tasks that require it.
  • Ensure that all cleaning agents and chemicals are stored safely and used according to manufacturer instructions.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cleaning and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices for maintaining a clean and professional working environment.
